Synopsis: Access POS has been selected to supply the latest Convenience Store POS System for a new store opening in Goroka, Papua New Guinea.

Access POS will install the latest Convenience Store POS System into Goroka Foodmart located in the Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea. Goroka has a population of around 19,000 and is about 1600m above sea level. An airport is located in the centre of town and takes daily arrivals from Port Moresby, Lae and Madang.

The owners of the "Foodmart Group" did considerable research into the selection of a suitable POS System and company that could support such a system located in a relatively remote area.

Access POS is very pleased to have been selected and has already completed initial setup of the system at it's offices with shipment on it's way by sea (Sydney to Goroka). An Access POS employee will leave for Goroka in early February to install the POS System and provide system training. On-going support from Sydney will be via internet remote access into the back office server.

The POS System consists of the following:

  • Four POS terminals all with barcode scanning
  • Back Office dedicated POS Server computer
  • Back Office workstation computer which will also have a barcode scanner for data entry and a product label printer

Access POS has updated it's POS Software to allow for the currency of Papua New Guinea, Kina.

Upon successful installation of this store, Access POS will then install it's Retail POS System into thirteen (13) other stores located around Papua New Guinea.
