Multi Store POS System Rollout in Queensland

Flash Harrys is a privately owned Australian business that operates five discount variety stores within Queensland. Further expansion plans are also on the "drawing board". Their first store opened in Pialba Place, Hervey Bay in 2003. Then followed the Maryborough store in Maryborough Plaza in 2004 and in the sugarland shopping town of Bundaberg in 2007. 2011 saw the addition of a store in Bargara at Bargara Central and their latest store will be opening in Gympie in November at the new Southside Shopping Centre.

With the recent addition of the Bargara store, the now previous POS System started to "buckle" under the strain of endeavoring to process the large volume of transactions across the Flash Harrys enterprise. With the fifth store in Gympie due to open shortly, a decision was made to install a more robust and feature rich POS System. After meticulous research, the Counter Intelligence Multi Store POS Software was selected and has now been subsequently installed by Access POS.

The overall system consisted of four (4) back office computers and one (1) Server computer located at Hervey Bay, QLD where the head office / warehouse is located and thirteen (13) POS computers across the five (5) stores.

The head office computers are updated in real time as transactions occur at the stores. ie sales data, stock levels, lay-by, customer loyalty information etc. Even each store is updated with stock levels that exist at other stores which allows POS operators from one store to offer out of stock items to customers on the basis that the stock exists at alternate stores within the enterprise. Lay-by's and customer loyalty transaction data is also distributed across all stores.
