Synopsis: Access POS is very pleased to announce that it has received further orders for its POS Cash Register System from the Foodmart Group in Papua New Guinea. Access POS has been contracted to install its Grocery Store / Supermarket POS Software into their warehouse in Goroka as well as their second and by far largest supermarket also in Goroka, Papua New Guinea.

Following on from our highly successful installation of our Grocery Store / Supermarket POS Cash Register System into the first of Foodmart Groups supermarkets in Goroka, Access POS has been contracted to install the same POS Cash Register System into their warehouse and other much larger supermarket also located in Goroka, Papua New Guinea.

Foodmart Groups Grocery warehouse not only services their own two supermarkets but also many other supermarkets and grocery stores around the region. The main objective was to tighten up stock control, correctly invoice customers and to facilitate control of goods being transferred from the warehouse to Foodmart Groups own supermarkets. On this last point, Access POS custom developed an “electronic invoicing system” whereby a computer file is generated when the warehouse invoices one its own supermarkets. This invoice computer file can be either sent directly to the company owned supermarket via an in internet connection or simply be transferred on to a USB memory stick for manual transfer. The receiving supermarket can then import the invoice which also contains product descriptions, barcode, cost and retail pricing etc. This is automatically programmed into the supermarkets POS System. This will save a huge amount of data entry time.

The POS System for the warehouse consists of the following:

  • One main Server PC which has a barcode scanner, label printer and A4 invoicing laser printer which is located near the main dispatch door.
  • One Workstation PC which has a barcode scanner, POS receipt printer and cash drawer and is located near the smaller dispatch door for cash sales.
  • A wireless network will be installed for laptop connection and a barcode scanner has been supplied for stocktake updates from the warehouse floor.

The POS System for Supermarket consists of the following:

  • One (1) back office dedicated POS Server PC
  • One (1) Back Office Workstation PC which has a barcode scanner for stock entry and a product label printer.
  • A wireless network will be installed for laptop connection and a barcode scanner has been supplied for stocktake updates from the supermarket floor.
  • Nine (9) POS terminals utilising a touch screen with barcode scanning, POS receipt printer and cash drawer.

All POS equipment is currently being freighted by ship to Lae and after clearing customs will be on its way to Goroka. Access POS expects to send its POS System installer in early May to set up the system.
